Boston Catholic Charities halts Adoptions
Well, Bettnet has got this story covered, so read him.
I find one of Dom's connecting-the-dots interesting: Apparently Levada just handed down an order today (suprise, suprise) to Catholic Charities in San Francisco to change their policy on gay adoption as well. But here's the kicker: it was the Boston Globe that actually broke this story first. So perhaps, as Dom conjectures, Levada did some swift emailing to prevent the Globe from being able to point-out a glaring double-standard in practice between the two cities.
Now, whatever else this story shows, I do like the fact that Levada, an American, for once might have gotten the jump on a U.S. mainstream media outlet and prevented a public relations gaff in Boston (which frankly really doesn't need any more of those).
And that's a good thing for the head of CDF to do.
