Good things come out of Nazareth terrorist attack
Israelis Apologize for Blasts in Basilica
Church Leaders Thankful for Moves to Defend Nazareth Site
Some good things occurred after the attack:
The incident drew thousands of people representing various religious from Nazareth and surrounding villages to the basilica with the intention of protecting it. The crowd remained late into the night.
That same night, Israeli authorities formally apologized to Archbishop Giovanni Lajolo, Vatican secretary for relations with states, to Latin Patriarch Michel Sabbah of Jerusalem, and to Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Custos of the Holy Land.
[The Latin Patriarchate responded] "We thank the entire crowd, from different religious backgrounds, who came yesterday to defend our holy places and the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth. "In this we see an awareness to strengthen the unity of the people and an effort to avoid such incidents before they happen."
