A walkthrough of the new World Youth Day website

The official website for World Youth Day 2008 has undergone a massive facelift and update in coincidence with the festivities this weekend celebrating the 21st WYD today.

There are a host of new resources for anyone interested in this event, and for you early birds out there - now is the time to start learning about the opportunities and activities associated with it!

Some things that caught my eye as I was browsing the website:
    • On the mainpage, you can listen to Pope Benedict announce Sydney as the location for the next WYD (I heard it live, and I never miss an opportunity to let people know that!)
    • You can register to become a member of the WYD website, and if you want, receive the monthly e-pilgrimage mailing. I've already snagged the "AmericanPapist" account name, so I feel safe spreading the word. :-) The April ePilgrimage edition (PDF format) is already online.
    • Full pilgrim registration will begin in July 2007, so you have some time before that rolls around.
    • You can, however, register to become a part of the WYD08 volunteer team (FAQs available as well)
    • The proposed program of events and theme are also available.

There's much more. Go take a look-see if you have some time!
