Posing for a Calendar - Papa Benedict style (with photos, of course)
Pope Benedict XVI poses for the cover of his calendar called 'Together, one year with the Pope' in this photo released November 8, 2006. The Pope posed for this benefit calendar in the past summer during his retreat at Castelgandolfo, north of Rome. The calendar is made of 14 pictures, taken from the Famiglia Cristiana's photographer Giancarlo Giuliani, and will be sold from November 23. /Giancarlo Giuliani/Famiglia Cristiana/Handout (ITALY) Christopher adds: "Benedict (who’s expressive features and broad gestures make him oddly photogenic for a 79 year old) is to become the first pope, not to be put into a calendar, but to pose for one... It will cost $6 on top of the normal magazine (about $4)."
VATICAN CITY - Pope Benedict is soon to become the first pontiff to publish a photo calendar featuring shots of himself posing for each month of the year.
The 79-year-old leader of the Catholic Church was snapped in 14 different poses for a calendar which will be distributed with Italy's best-selling weekly, Famiglia Cristiana, on November 23.
...
"You'll see a new pope every month!" is the slogan with which the weekly is publicising the unprecedented initiative.
I really don't think "different poses" is the right phrase to describe how the pope is being photographed, but maybe that's just my imperfect mind...
Here's the June Pope Benedict:
