New details emerge for Pope's April visit to Washington DC

Jacqueline L. Salmon of the Washington Post has the latest for us, right down to the amusing detail that Pope Benedict will be celebrating Mass from "deep centerfield" at National's stadium.

Other notables details concerning his public Mass of April 17th?

  • No motorcades planned for the pope at this point
  • Doors will open for the 10am Mass at 6:30am for the "pre-Mass events"
  • Music provided by Washington area parish choirs (start rehearsing, folks)
  • Washington National season ticket holders don't get an automatic invite to the Mass

... and still no word on how to get tickets, but see my previous posts on this subject for the rumors.
